About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Supply Chain Executive to support procurement, tender management, supplier coordination, import and export operations, and commercial activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Commercial Operations

• Manage commercial aspects of Customer Requests for Quotations (RFQs).
• Prepare job costings, commercial proposals, and customer quotations within agreed timelines.
• Respond to customer inquiries and support commercial negotiations.
• Coordinate sourcing activities to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement.

Supplier & Vendor Management

• Negotiate with suppliers and maintain productive supplier relationships.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to strengthen and diversify the supplier base.
• Monitor supplier performance, service quality, pricing, and delivery standards.
• Maintain supplier databases and procurement records.

Import, Export & Supply Chain Coordination

• Support import and export operations while ensuring compliance with relevant procedures.
• Coordinate with logistics providers, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
• Assist in managing shipments, documentation, and supply chain activities.
• Monitor market conditions and sourcing trends to support procurement decisions.

Reporting & Administration

• Collect, analyze, and compile procurement and supply chain information.
• Prepare reports, documentation, and management summaries.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, pricing history, and supplier information.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and best practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Finance, Logistics, and other departments to ensure operational efficiency.
• Support business objectives through effective procurement planning and supplier management.
• Contribute to process improvements and operational excellence initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Merchandising, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Tender Management, Imports & Exports, or a related field.
• Experience handling tenders, import/export documentation, and supply chain operations will be an advantage.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Applicants residing within the Colombo District will be preferred.
• Age between 23 and 30 years.
