Supply Chain Logistics Manager
We are looking for a Supply Chain Logistics Manager to lead Minted’s end-to-end transportation network—from inbound freight originating with overseas suppliers through final-mile delivery to our DTC customers and wholesale partners.
This role will own logistics performance, cost, carrier strategy and relationships, and continuous improvement, ensuring our network delivers the right balance of speed, reliability, cost, and scalability. You will partner closely with our fulfillment network, overseas vendors, 3PLs, Customer Service, technology teams, and internal business partners.
This could be a hybrid role based in San Francisco, with an expectation of working onsite 3 days per week or remote if based outside of the Bay Area.
You will:
DTC & Last-Mile Logistics
- Own and optimize Minted’s DTC parcel network across carriers, service levels, fulfillment locations, and product categories.
- Manage carrier performance, relationships, and contracts, including rate and contract negotiations, SLA management, and evaluation of new carriers and services.
- Analyze shipping costs, service levels, surcharges, routing, and package characteristics to improve delivery performance and reduce cost per package.
- Partner with fulfillment and technology teams to optimize carrier selection, shipping-service logic, and end-to-end shipment visibility.
- Serve as the primary logistics partner to Customer Service, ensuring time-sensitive and high-priority customer shipments receive appropriate escalation and resolution.
Peak Planning & Execution
- Lead transportation readiness for Peak, translating business forecasts into carrier- and service-level volume forecasts and capacity requirements.
- Coordinate with carriers and fulfillment partners to ensure appropriate pickup schedules, capacity, and contingency plans are in place at each location.
- Monitor Peak performance and proactively communicate shipping forecasts, service risks, capacity constraints, surcharge changes, and cost implications to the business.
International & Inbound Logistics
- Own inbound transportation from overseas suppliers through delivery to Minted fulfillment locations, distribution centers, and wholesale destinations.
- Manage freight forwarders, customs brokers, 3PLs, and overseas vendors to ensure shipments are planned, documented, tracked, and delivered on time.
- Optimize ocean, air, and domestic inbound freight based on cost, lead time, and inventory requirements, including consolidation, mode selection, and total landed cost.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of Incoterms, customs processes, duties, international shipping documentation, and trade-compliance requirements.
Wholesale & Distribution Logistics
- Manage logistics requirements for wholesale and retail programs, including routing guides, labeling, appointments, EDI, and delivery compliance.
- Monitor and resolve freight-related chargebacks and deductions, and ensure logistics readiness for new customers, programs, and product launches.
Analytics & Continuous Improvement
- Own logistics KPIs, transportation forecasts, and cost-to-serve analysis, translating data into actionable operational and financial improvements.
- Identify and execute initiatives that reduce transportation cost, improve transit times and reliability, and strengthen network resilience.
- Partner with Engineering, Product, and IT to automate workflows, improve data accuracy, and enhance shipment visibility.
- Serve as the cross-functional voice of logistics, ensuring transportation considerations, risks, and costs are incorporated into business decisions.
You have:
- 5+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations, with meaningful experience in both DTC parcel / last-mile shipping and international inbound logistics.
- Deep knowledge of the U.S. parcel ecosystem, including national and regional carriers, service levels, pricing, surcharges, and carrier performance management.
- Experience managing carrier contracts, transportation pricing, and commercial negotiations.
- Hands-on experience with international freight, including ocean and air transportation, freight forwarders, customs brokers, Incoterms, and inbound coordination.
- Experience planning carrier capacity and transportation operations for high-volume seasonal or Peak periods.
- Experience with multi-node fulfillment, 3PL, and wholesale or retail distribution environments.
- Strong analytical and financial skills, with experience using data to evaluate transportation costs, forecast demand, and drive cost and service improvements.
- Strong operational judgment and cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to identify risks early and drive issues through resolution.
