Supply Chain Manager II, Amazon XL (AMXL) Supply Chain
Posted Updated
Join Amazon's Extra Large Supply Chain organization built to manage every stage of the fulfillment process- inbound, capacity, linehaul, yard, and delivery - under a single leader. This is a rare chance to see and shape a complex, worldwide supply chain network that moves unique, large-format products with special handling requirements all the way to millions of customers.
As a Supply Chain Manager on our End-to-End team, you will own problems at the intersection of modeling and analytics and hands-on stakeholder engagement. You'll build the models that drive network decisions, then take them directly to the subject-matter experts who run transportation, fulfillment, delivery, and engineering — translating analysis into operational change in real time. This role is for someone who wants both: the quantitative depth of network planning and the influence of partnering with the people who move the freight.
You'll support inventory capacity and transportation management across our Fulfillment and Sortation Network — managing trailer timeliness, linehaul scheduling, and transportation execution. Scope will flex with the needs of the network and your strengths, but you can expect ownership of the metrics and programs that keep the network running efficiently.
Because we operation end-to-end from fulfillment through delivery, cross functional work is the daily default. You'll partner across Operations, Transportation, Finance, Product, and Engineering, and you'll be close enough to the operation to solve problems that have immediate, visible impact on our network and our customers.
Key job responsibilities
- Build and own analytical models that drive transportation decisions across the Fulfillment and Sortation Network
- Translate analysis into operational change by partnering directly with transportation, fulfillment, delivery, and engineering subject-matter experts. This means you will go into facilities, see the package flow, understand the operation, and help drive the business with tactical and strategic support
- Manage trailer timeliness, linehaul scheduling, and transportation execution against network metrics and glidepaths
- Own capacity and transportation programs that keep the network running efficiently, adjusting scope as network priorities shift
- Identify operational inefficiencies and drive automation and scalable systems to resolve them
- Partner cross-functionally across Operations, Transportation, Finance, Product, and Engineering to solve problems in real time
- Communicate findings, trade-offs, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership to drive aligned decisions. This includes analytical results in Business Reviews, documents with decision gates, and ad-hoc support to fix critical operational challenges.
A day in the life
You start the morning in your models, monitoring overnight trailer timeliness and linehaul performance, updating an AI tool to monitor a regional issue. You then present your findings and recommendation in a business review to 7 senior leaders—and walk out with a decision made and a change live that same day. The afternoon turns strategic and cross-functional: you learn the network through its experts—a transportation SME on scheduling constraints, an engineer on yard design constraints, Finance on cost trade-offs. No two days match. Your decisions directly impact customers, ensuring they receive their products on-time and satisfied.
Amazon offers a full range of benefits that support you and eligible family members, including domestic partners and their children. Benefits can vary by location, the number of regularly scheduled hours you work, length of employment, and job status such as seasonal or temporary employment.
The benefits that generally apply to regular, full-time employees include:
- Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage
- Maternity and Parental Leave Options
- Paid Time Off (PTO)
- 401(k) Plan
If you are not sure that every qualification on the list above describes you exactly, we'd still love to hear from you!
At Amazon, we value people with unique backgrounds, experiences, and skillsets. If you’re passionate about this role and want to make an impact on a global scale, please apply!
About the team
The NA AMXL Supply Chain Science and Engineering team (SSE) leads the growth and profitability of our network. We calibrate capacity to demand, safeguard the health of our end-to-end supply chain, and make the structural changes that keep it ahead of the business. Operating as a closed-loop execution engine, we own both capacity health and the linehaul execution that feeds it—backed by real-time intelligence that lets us act proactively, not reactively. Over five years, AMXL has become arguably the world's best Heavy-Bulky provider. Come help us get better, every day!
