Duties and Responsibilities

1. Procurement Management

  • Source and purchase raw materials, packaging materials, consumables, and equipment required for production and retail outlets.

  • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure the best quality, price, and delivery terms.

  • Develop and manage supplier relationships for long-term partnership and reliability.

2. Vendor Development and Management

  • Identify, assess, and onboard new suppliers and vendors based on company needs and standards.

  • Conduct periodic vendor evaluations based on quality, cost, service, and delivery performance.

  • Create and maintain vendor contracts, price agreements, and service-level agreements (SLAs).

3. Inventory and Warehouse Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory records at warehouses

  • Implement inventory control techniques such as FIFO (First In First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry First Out).

  • Minimize stock-out situations and excess inventory by effective planning.

  • Conduct periodic physical stock verifications and reconciliations.

4. Logistics and Distribution

  • Plan and execute timely distribution of materials, semi-finished, and finished goods to outlets and production units.

  • Optimize transportation routes to reduce delivery time and logistics cost.

  • Ensure safe and hygienic handling of all food-related products during storage and transport.

5. Cost Control and Budget Management

  • Analyze supply chain costs and identify saving opportunities.

  • Implement cost-reduction strategies without compromising on quality or service.

  • Monitor monthly, quarterly, and annual procurement budgets and variances.

6. Process Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Ensure adherence to internal SOPs and external food safety, regulatory, and statutory requirements (FSSAI, etc.).

  • Collaborate with Quality Control (QC) and Production teams to ensure supplier compliance on food safety standards.

  • Maintain documentation and records required for audits.

7. Forecasting and Planning

  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing and Production teams to forecast demand and plan procurement accordingly.

  • Develop supply chain strategies to support seasonal peaks, new product launches, and expansion plans.

8. Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead and mentor the team members.

  • Set individual and team goals aligned with organizational objectives.

  • Conduct regular team meetings, provide feedback, and arrange training programs to upgrade team capabilities.

9. Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare and submit regular MIS reports on procurement status, inventory health, vendor performance, and supply chain cost metrics.

  • Analyze supply chain data to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.

10. Crisis Management

  • Proactively identify potential supply disruptions and develop contingency plans.

Quickly address supply shortages, quality issues, or logistics problems to avoid business interruptions.

Requirements

Any degree
Certification in supply chain management is advantageous
5 - 10 Years of experience in managerial roles
Food / Retail industry work experience
Age not above 40 Years
