Description
The Senior Supply Chain & Procurement Specialist is the senior professional authority for procurement, supplier, inventory and inbound supply chain practices within the South African operation. The role shapes the functional approach, provides advice on complex and sensitive commercial or continuity matters, and integrates supply chain requirements with Finance and operational priorities. It leads high-impact sourcing, supplier-performance and process-development activity within governance and delegated authority, using mature judgment to balance cost, quality, risk and growth. The role establishes scalable standards and influences decisions across the business without formal people-management accountability.
• Complex sourcing and commercial advice: Lead complex or business-critical sourcing and supplier-selection activity, develop negotiation strategies and commercial recommendations, and advise decision-makers on terms, exposure and trade-offs.
• Supply continuity and supplier performance: Establish the supplier-performance and supply-risk framework, lead resolution of significant delivery, quality or continuity issues, and coordinate cross-functional mitigation and improvement plans.
• Integrated planning, systems and insight: Set requirements for inventory, planning, data and reporting practices; evaluate scenarios and trends; and provide senior stakeholders with insight that informs cost, working-capital and operational decisions.
• Professional leadership and growth readiness: Set good practices, guide colleagues and project teams, lead cross-functional improvement initiatives, and build the processes, governance and external relationships required for increasing scale and complexity.
• Professional procurement or supply chain certification would be advantageous. • Extensive and progressively responsible experience across procurement and supply chain in an operational environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex sourcing, negotiation and supplier-performance activity.
• Experience advising senior stakeholders on material commercial, continuity, inventory or working-capital risks.
• Experience defining standards, governance, systems requirements and performance frameworks for a growing function.
• Experience leading cross-functional change and providing professional guidance on complex matters.
Responsibilities

Requirements
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in supply chain management, procurement, logistics, commerce, finance or a related discipline.• Professional procurement or supply chain certification would be advantageous. • Extensive and progressively responsible experience across procurement and supply chain in an operational environment.
