Supply Chain Manager
The opportunity
This is a build role, not a maintenance role. You will own supply chain end-to-end for our implantable devices at the moment it matters most: the transition from clinical supply to commercial launch. There is no established team to inherit and no legacy machine to keep running. You will design the demand, procurement, inventory and logistics processes a compliant, resilient medical device supply chain depends on, run them hands-on, and recruit and lead the team around you as commercial volume grows. You will work daily with Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Finance and Commercial, and report into operations leadership.
What you'll own
• End-to-end supply chain: demand planning, procurement, inventory, logistics and S&OP for implantable devices.
• The monthly S&OP cadence, driven with Sales, Operations, Finance and Manufacturing, and the forecast accuracy behind it.
• Sourcing and supplier strategy for raw materials, implant components and packaging: negotiation, performance management, and (with Supplier Quality and Regulatory) qualification and audits.
• Inventory health: service levels, turns, traceability and obsolescence risk, under full lot traceability.
• Domestic and international logistics, warehousing and distribution, with a constant eye on cost and service.
• Supply chain readiness for new product introductions, from material planning to launch.
• Supply risk and continuity: mitigation, contingency and business-continuity planning across suppliers, capacity and materials.
• Building the function: as volume scales, recruiting and leading planners, buyers and logistics, and setting the standard for how the team operates.
Compliance is the baseline
Everything above runs inside a regulated quality system. You will keep supply chain activities compliant with EU MDR, ISO 13485 and GMP, maintain full product traceability, and support internal, supplier and regulatory audits. FDA 21 CFR 820 / QMSR experience is a plus as we scale internationally.
Is this you?
This role is for you if:
✓ A blank page energises you. You want to build, not maintain.
✓ You're comfortable owning outcomes before you have a team to delegate to.
✓ You can hold service, cost, compliance and continuity in your head at the same time.
✓ You want the scope of a leadership role now, not in five years.
It's probably not for you if:
— You want a mature ERP, settled processes and a team already in place.
— You prefer deep specialisation in one lane over end-to-end ownership.
What you'll bring
• 3-5+ years in supply chain, spanning planning, procurement and inventory.
• Either first-line management experience, or clear readiness and appetite to step into your first management role and build a team.
• Working knowledge of demand planning, inventory optimisation, strategic sourcing and S&OP.
• Hands-on ERP experience.
• A Bachelor's or Master's in Supply Chain, Operations, Business or a related field.
• Fluent English; German, Dutch or Spanish is a plus.
Nice to have
• Experience in medical devices, implants, pharma or another regulated life-sciences environment.
• APICS/ASCM CSCP or CPIM, or Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt).
• Experience managing 3PLs and FDA-regulated manufacturing.
How you'll be measured
Simple and outcome-based: OTIF ≥ 98%, forecast accuracy ≥ 85%, healthy inventory turns and low backorders, strong supplier on-time delivery and quality, and clean audit and traceability compliance.
