Role Purpose

The Supply Chain Security Specialist will strengthen physical and operational security across Southeast Asia freight forwarding, transportation and distribution centre operations. The role translates customer, company and regulatory requirements into practical controls, provides regional assurance through risk assessments and audits, and partners with operations, commercial teams and service providers to support secure business growth, new-site implementation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regional security governance: Implement and monitor supply chain, physical and operational security requirements across relevant business units, sites and transport activities. Maintain local standards, procedures, control registers and evidence aligned with company policy and applicable customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Risk assessment and security design: Conduct site, route, project and supplier security risk assessments. Recommend proportionate controls covering premises, access, cargo, conveyance, personnel, information, emergency response and business continuity.
  • Site and supplier assurance: Plan and perform security audits, inspections and supplier reviews. Document findings, agree corrective and preventive actions, verify closure and escalate material gaps through the appropriate governance channels.
  • Operational performance and analytics: Monitor security KPIs and trends, including cargo loss, theft, tampering, damage, access-control exceptions and audit findings. Lead root-cause analysis and track mitigation actions to effective closure.
  • Incident management and investigations: Coordinate the initial response to security incidents and near misses, preserve evidence, support investigations, complete timely stakeholder notifications, and ensure lessons learned are embedded into procedures and training.
  • Customer and stakeholder partnership: Act as a subject-matter contact for supply chain security. Translate customer requirements into operational standards and collaborate with operations, quality, HSSE, IT, procurement, commercial teams, regional management and external partners.
  • New business and project support: Assess security requirements and develop practical solutions for new customers, facilities, transport lanes, product launches and implementation projects. Support readiness reviews, go-live assurance and post-implementation stabilisation.
  • Training and security culture: Develop and deliver role-based training, briefings and awareness materials. Coach site teams and service providers, promote consistent SOP execution and strengthen a proactive security culture.
  • Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to improve control effectiveness, process efficiency, data quality and security technology utilisation while maintaining operational practicality and customer service.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience: At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in supply chain security, physical security, loss prevention, HSSE, compliance or risk management within logistics, freight forwarding, contract logistics, warehousing, express, transportation or a similarly complex operating environment.
  • Operational knowledge: Practical knowledge of warehouse and transport operations, cargo-handling controls, access control, CCTV and intrusion detection, incident response, investigations, supplier governance and audit.
  • Standards and regulations: Working knowledge of recognised supply chain security frameworks such as TAPA FSR/TSR, AEO, C-TPAT or ISO 28000 is advantageous. Ability to interpret customer standards, company policy and applicable Singapore and regional requirements.
  • Analytical capability: Able to analyse security metrics and incident trends, identify root causes, evaluate risk and present clear, evidence-based recommendations. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is expected; dashboard or data-visualisation experience is advantageous.
  • Stakeholder management: Strong communication, influencing and project coordination skills, with the confidence to engage customers, site leaders, operations teams, suppliers and regional stakeholders in a matrix organisation.
  • Language: Strong written and spoken English is required. Proficiency in Mandarin is essential for this role due to regular communication, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement with Mandarin-speaking markets in the region. Proficiency in another Southeast Asian language is advantageous where it supports local regional stakeholder engagement.
  • Mobility: Flexibility to travel across Southeast Asia based on operational, audit, and project requirements. Travel arrangements and support will be managed in accordance with company policy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Security Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Risk Management, Business, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Relevant professional certification, such as TAPA, ASIS CPP/PSP, ISO 28000, internal auditor, investigation or business continuity certification.

  • Experience with new facility start-ups, customer implementations, transport security and regional security programmes.

Key Success Measures

  • Consistent implementation of customer, company and regulatory security requirements across the assigned scope.
