Position Summary
The Supply Parts Managers are the backbone of the Supply Division and are the key support for field Supply Outside Salespeople. Putting customer needs first, the incumbent represents and promotes Van Keppel operations to ensure customer confidence and maximum profits for the Company and the store. Supply Parts Managers coordinate parts department activities and meetings and cooperate with other departments at all Van Keppel locations to help find supplies for the customer; therefore, teamwork is a key component for being successful in this position.
Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities
- Supervising counter and warehouse staff at your work location
- Managing inventory which includes staying apprised of stock levels, anticipating stock calls and demands, and evaluating turn
- Purchasing parts from authorized Supply Division vendors
- Learning the customer’s expectations for today and the future and periodically checking back with the customer with advance knowledge of sales and special pricing on parts they frequently order
- Providing sales quotes and using skilled expertise to close the sale
- Gaining knowledge and awareness about the current area market
- Managing your accounts receivables report to ensure customers remain current on their invoice payments and maintaining awareness for slow-paying customers, COD and “NO Sale” customers
- Displaying flexibility and openness to change and encouraging others to stay open to changes and improvements in policies and procedures
- Maintaining the highest integrity for safety by following all safety guidelines, reinforcing and teaching safety SOP’s and inspecting work areas continually to ensure workers comply with safety procedures and protocols
- Organizing and managing your time productively to ensure the highest possible return to the Company and its customers.
- Communicating with all levels of management to ensure that all service to our customers is handled in the most professional manner, which includes a strong focus on honesty and integrity in all transactions.
