Supply Planning Manager (Food Manufacturing/FMCG)
Key Responsibilities
Supply Planning & Inventory Management
- Develop and manage short, medium, and long-term supply plans to ensure product availability while optimizing inventory levels and working capital.
- Translate demand forecasts into executable production and replenishment plans aligned with business requirements and operational capabilities.
- Monitor inventory performance, stock coverage, slow-moving inventory, and obsolescence risks, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Ensure an optimal balance between customer service levels, production efficiency, and inventory investment.
Production & Capacity Planning
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to develop feasible production schedules based on demand forecasts, capacity constraints, and material availability.
- Monitor production capacity utilization and identify potential bottlenecks that may impact supply continuity.
- Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks arising from supply disruptions, production constraints, or unexpected demand fluctuations.
- Support network optimization initiatives to improve operational efficiency and responsiveness.
Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
- Lead and facilitate supply planning inputs into the S&OP process, ensuring alignment between commercial demand, production capabilities, and inventory strategies.
- Partner with Demand Planning, Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams to review forecasts, assumptions, and business risks.
- Provide scenario analysis and recommend actions to support business decision-making and improve forecast attainment.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure execution against agreed supply plans.
Supplier & Material Availability Management
- Work closely with Procurement and suppliers to ensure timely availability of raw materials, packaging materials, and imported products.
- Monitor supplier performance and proactively manage supply risks, shortages, and lead time challenges.
- Support sourcing strategies and supplier engagement initiatives to improve supply reliability and resilience.
Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
- Track and analyze key supply chain KPIs including service levels, inventory turns, forecast accuracy, plan attainment, OTIF, and stock availability.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, inventory optimization, and supply chain efficiency enhancement.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve planning processes, reduce costs, and enhance customer service performance.
- Support digitalization and supply chain transformation initiatives where applicable.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
- Partner closely with Commercial, Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, Finance, and Regional Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment and execution excellence.
- Communicate supply risks, constraints, and mitigation plans effectively to relevant stakeholders.
- Support new product launches, promotional activities, and seasonal demand planning to ensure successful market execution.
Requirements
Job Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in supply planning, production planning, or supply chain management, preferably within the FMCG, food manufacturing, or consumer goods industry.
- Proven experience managing supply planning activities in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with imported products, regional supply networks, or multi-site manufacturing operations is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Supply Planning, Inventory Management, Production Planning, MRP, and S&OP processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with strong attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of FMCG supply chain dynamics, demand variability, and service level management.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar planning platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with planning and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
