Support Engineer Network and Core Infrastructure

You will support network and core infrastructure operations, including network devices, connectivity, security controls, patching, monitoring, and incident response. You will maintain server-room and end-user hardware, support meeting-room equipment, document infrastructure, and contribute to approved improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with provisioning, configuring and maintaining network devices, WAN services and VPNs
• Troubleshoot wired, wireless, internet, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching and connectivity issues
• Administer IP address allocation and VLAN records
• Support firewall administration, network access control and network-security alert triage
• Apply approved upgrades, patches, firmware updates and configuration backups
• Maintain Synology NAS systems and verify backups
• Monitor network performance, capacity and security events
• Respond to alerts, collect diagnostic evidence and support incident reviews
• Participate in out-of-hours support or an on-call rota where required
• Inspect and document server-room racks, cabling, power, UPS and cooling
• Diagnose and repair laptop hardware and deploy laptops and peripherals
• Maintain meeting-room and IoT equipment
• Support infrastructure build, test, migration and validation activities
• Create and maintain network diagrams, inventories, configuration records and operating procedures
• Collaborate with internal teams, providers and vendors to resolve issues and deliver changes

Requirements

• Around 2 to 3 years of relevant network support, infrastructure operations or IT support experience
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting networks through work, study, labs or projects
• Laptop hardware diagnosis and repair experience
• Working knowledge of Windows and/or macOS setup, imaging and deployment
• Basic understanding of server hardware, RAID, storage health monitoring and backup verification
• Awareness of server-room fundamentals, including rack layout, cable management, UPS and cooling
