Support Services Specialist
The Support Services Specialist serves in the Support Services Division, located in the Veteran Benefits Administration, Boston Regional Office. The incumbent performs facilities management, property management, government vehicle management, serves as the primary/alternate PIV coordinator, and completes other administrative tasks under the supervision of the Supervisory Support Services Specialist and/or the Chief of the Support Services Division.
Specific duties include: Evaluates and provides input for efficient utilization of space to include floor plans and design, ensuring proper cubicle design and required infrastructure. Provides property management services including facilities, trouble calls, analyzing equipment requirements, remedying equipment repairs, conducting inventories, and disposing of equipment and furniture. Oversees the fleet management program by coordinating day-to-day functions by documenting and authorizing operators, scheduling utilization and maintenance, and submitting required reports. Conducts fact-finding or analyses to determine facility requirements based on RO organizational needs, service deficiencies, and appropriate resolutions to identified issues. Responsible for the administration of the Personal Identify Verification (PIV) system, ensures proper issuance of PIV cards and manages administration roles. Acts as the PIV liaison as required. Evaluates and provides input into security plans and reports. Coordinates building security with appropriate authorities. Produces all reports associated with security. Participates in the stations safety program by providing input, tracking and implementation of safety related items. Participates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures. Evaluates and provides input and recommendations for procedural improvements in all administrative functional areas. Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm Compressed/Flexible: Subject to supervisory discretion. Telework: This position is eligible for situational (ad hoc) telework only. The selectee is required to report to the official duty station each scheduled workday. Telework may be approved only on a case-by-case basis with supervisory approval.
