Support Services Supervisor, GS-0342-15 (Temporary Promotion/Detail Only)
This Support Services Supervisor (Facilities and Operations Branch Chief) position is located in the Office of Administrative Services (OAS). The incumbent will provide for the effective management, administration, and delivery of branch services that support mission accomplishment, including facilities management, space planning, and oversight of real and personal property. As the Facilities and Operations Branch Chief, you will perform the following duties: Work with staff and colleagues to establish annual and multi-year work plans and schedules to ensure implementation of division goals and objectives. Manage, lead, and coordinate a wide variety of functions, including facilities management, building services, procurement, property management, and related processes and systems, that impact the entire Foundation as well as its various external constituencies. Manage and grow human resources and organizational assets in the branch. Review branch plans and assess to identify improvements, direct actions to enhance program effectiveness, and adjust operations as necessary to ensure that performance of program responsibilities is relevant to the NSF mission, address customer needs and interests, and are properly integrated and aligned with the goals and objectives of OAS. Articulate clear goals and objectives to staff, set performance targets, establish accountability measures, and hold staff accountable for progress in meeting targets through regular reviews and evaluation. Provide advice to top-level management on program and policy issues in all areas wider than the incumbent's jurisdiction. Develop long-range objectives and plans in these areas and presents briefings and recommendations concerning these objectives and plans to top-level Foundation management officials (e.g., the Director, Assistant Directors, and staff Office Directors).

Additional Requirements: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade/equivalent. Applicants do not need to seek their supervisor's approval to apply for this temporary promotion/detail opportunity. However, supervisory approval is needed prior to making the temporary promotion/detail effective. Candidates selected for a detail will remain at their current grade and rate of pay. This temporary promotion/detail is for a period of 120-days and may be extended up to one year. This temporary promotion or detail CANNOT be made permanent. The temporary promotion/detail may be terminated at any time during this period. Upon conclusion of the temporary promotion/detail, you will be returned to your former office and position/grade. You must meet eligibility and qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date.
