Responsibilities
As a Support Staff / Floater you will be given the tools, resources, and training to:

  • Provide classroom support throughout the school as needed, working with children of various ages and developmental stages.
  • Move between classrooms as needed to provide coverage and support daily operations.
  • Serve as a substitute teacher when a teacher is absent or unavailable.
  • Relieve teachers for scheduled bathroom breaks, lunches, and planning time while maintaining required staff-to-child ratios.
  • Support Lead and Assistant Teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum, lesson plans, and classroom activities.
  • Support children with handwashing, toileting, diapering, and other age-appropriate self-care routines.
  • Prepare and distribute morning (AM) and afternoon (PM) snacks according to school guidelines and food safety standards.
  • Assist with meal and snack setup, service, and cleanup.
  • Maintain accurate snack inventory and communicate supply needs to administration to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Clean and maintain the kitchen, including microwaves, refrigerators, and other kitchen areas.
  • Communicate appropriately and professionally with parents, families, fellow staff members, and administration.
  • Build and contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Commit to continuing education and ongoing professional growth.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by following licensing regulations, school policies, and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director to support the overall operation of the preschool.
Qualifications
  • At least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in a preschool environment
