Support Technician
KeyResponsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support to users and employees.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain computers, laptops, and other IT equipment.
- Set up and manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions.
- Perform system updates, software installations, and routine maintenance tasks.
- Document incidents, support tickets, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
- Support cybersecurity initiatives, including updating antivirus patches on offline servers and promoting user security awareness.
- Liaise with vendors and escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers when necessary.
Requirements
- Diploma, or Higher NITEC, in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or desktop support roles.
- Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, networking, and hardware troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Active Directory and user account management is an advantage.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Customer-focused attitude with strong attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with antivirus management and cybersecurity best practices.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, Wi-Fi, and VPN troubleshooting.
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Fundamentals, or equivalent are advantageous.
