Support Worker
Point Care is a dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities.
Position Summary:
- Provide support to clients in accordance with their NDIS plan.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, such as eating, dressing, bathing, grooming, and other aspects of personal care.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive nutritious meals tailored to their needs and preferences.
- Provide transportation assistance to clients.
- Provide respite care to clients and their families.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records of clients' care plans and progress.
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other members of the care team.
- Follow health and safety regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with the latest developments and best practices in the NDIS field.
Requirements
- A minimum of high school or equivalent.
- Certificate 3 or 4 in individual support
or willing to work towards completion(highly
regarded).
- Lived experience
or paid experience working with people with disability.
- Day shift, night shifts, sleepovers and
weekends.
- Strong
understanding of the NDIS and its guidelines.
- Understanding of health and safety
regulations.
- Ability to work
with a diverse client base, understanding the different
support needs of clients based on their abilities, cultural
backgrounds, and language requirements.
- Basic care and first aid skills.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft office suite.
