Why this role matters
The Salvation Army Australia’s Homelessness Stream delivers high-quality, person-centred services to individuals and families at risk of or experiencing homelessness. We provide accommodation, case management, outreach, financial assistance, and connections to specialist services – supporting people to rebuild independence and stability.
About the role
We’re seeking a compassionate and proactive Support Worker to empower clients in developing their capacity to live independently. Working closely with Case Managers and Team Leaders, you’ll provide holistic support that makes a real difference in people’s lives.
This is a part-time (20 hours a week) position based in Surry Hills, reporting to the Residential Support Team Leader. The role involves 24-hour rostered shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays).
How will make an impact
Support the implementation of the Homelessness Stream Model of Care
Work alongside Case Managers to respond to client needs
Complete incident and risk reports in line with policy and procedure
Identify service gaps and recommend improvements to leadership
Engage in ongoing professional development to strengthen practice
What you will bring
Minimum Certificate IV in Community Services
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Understanding of Trauma-Informed Care (desirable)
Current NSW Employee Working with Children Check
Senior First Aid Certificate (preferred)
NSW Driver’s Licence (desirable)
