Support Worker

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate meaningful and productive activities for individuals.
  • Learn the individuals being supported well – their likes and dislikes, strengths and needs, interests and preferences, and their health requirements.
  • Support communication between the individual and others using relevant assistive technology devices and strategies.
  • Support healthy expression of individuality.
  • Support individuals in accomplishing Individual Service Plan goals.
  • Plan and facilitate activities that promote opportunities to expand personal interests, build skills, develop friendships, and fulfill valued social roles.
  • Assist, train, and encourage individuals to use community resources.

Tobosa Developmental Services is seeking staff to provide assistance and support to individuals within a home and community environment. Direct Care Support encourages and assists individuals in developing interdependence, productivity, and integration in the community

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • New Mexico driver’s license.
  • Certified Nurse’s Assistant preferred.
  • Experience working with persons with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Ability to provide physical assistance to individuals.

  • 12 hour shift
