Summary
Supervises a team of forensic data analysts who detect fraud, analyze business trends, and build AI-driven dashboards to support OIG investigations and strategic decisions.
Supervisors make decisions that impact the resources (people, budget, and material) of the work unit, ensure the technical quality and timeliness of the work produced by employees in the unit, and collaborate with supervisors across the organization in unstructured situations. Supervisors must supervise at least one government employee; they typically supervise between three to fifteen employees.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is a supervisory position in the OIG Management and Resources Division, reporting to the Assistant Inspector General for Management and Resources. The incumbent supervises a team of forensic data analysts responsible for OIG fraud analytics, business analytics, IT support to OIG, and the OIG corporate management system. Proactive fraud analytic projects include identifying potential violations of law and recognizing latent trends that lead to fraud detection using data science and analytic tools and capabilities. Results are provided to the separate OIG investigation, audit, and evaluation divisions through data analytics models with dashboard views. Business analytics projects include using statistical research methods and exploiting various software products and artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze historical data to gain new insight and improve strategic decision-making within OIG. Meaningful results derived from the analysis are portrayed through dynamic information graphics accurately depicting the story and allowing the decision-maker to easily understand what the data is telling them. The OIG Supervisory Forensic Data Analyst is also responsible for leading the collaboration with the other NGA OIG divisions to improve data collection, loading, validation and reconciliation, analysis, and reporting. They lead the preparation of reports and briefings that provide a sound basis for the restitution and recovery of NGA funds and oversee the collaboration with division experts to develop metrics that drive process improvements. They are also responsible for maintaining a corporate management tool housing OIG data and ensuring data integrity.

In addition, you are subject to a Counterintelligence Polygraph examination in order to maintain access to Top Secret information. All employees are subject to a periodic examination on a random basis in order to determine continued eligibility. Refusal to take the examination may result in denial of access to Top Secret information, SAP, or unescorted access to SCIFs. Employees with SCI access and who are under NGA cognizance are required to submit a Security Financial Disclosure Report, SF-714, on an annual basis in order to determine continued eligibility. Failure to comply may negatively impact continued access to Top Secret information, Information Systems, SAP, or unescorted access to SCIFs. NGA utilizes all processes and procedures of the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Non-executive NGA employees are assigned to five distinct pay bands based on the type and scope of work performed. The employee's base salary is established within their assigned pay band based on their unique qualifications. A performance pay process is conducted each year to determine a potential base pay salary increase and/or bonus. An employee's annual performance evaluation is a key factor in the performance pay process. This position is a DCIPS position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1601.
