SUPV GENERAL ENGINEER
You will serve as a Supervisory General Engineer in the Systems Engineering Department of AEGIS COMBATSYSC. You will, as the Systems Engineering (S/E) Department head at SCSC, be responsible for mission-related work. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
You will be required to establish and maintain comprehensive linkages with Program Offices (e.g., PMS400, PMS461 and PMS465) to ensure cogent plans are developed for new Combat Systems destined for SCSC.
You will plan and guide the engineering of new Combat Systems, either stand-alone or integrating into existing systems.
You will plan and monitor the installation and activation of those new systems.
You will provide leadership to professional and technical personnel; military, civil service and industrial. S/E Department Head directs the engineering of new and/or modified Combat Systems into the SCSC topography.
You will develop tactical planning for the appropriate Wallops Island evolution of future Surface Combatant Fleet.
You will provide technical and managerial policy oversight to in activities including planning and activation of new capability, systems and personnel readiness, operations planning and effective support process.
You will manage the AEGIS and SSDS Facilities through a staff of subordinate engineers.
You will provide general guidance and budgeting guidance to division managers.
You will resolve any problems that occur which cannot be resolved by subordinates.
You will keep abreast of related technological advancements within the Navy as well as the Army, Air Force, other DoD agencies, universities and industry.
You will serve as an authoritative technical expert in three or more engineering disciplines, concerned with development/evaluation of a major weapons system or equivalent equipment project.
You will serve as a recognized engineering technical expert and adviser to the organization head.
