BluePearl Pet Hospital in Midtown Manhattan is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery team! Our 20,000-square-foot multi-discplinary hospital conveniently offers easy access to public transportation.

Work alongside experienced, board-certified clinicians within a specialty hospital, with exposure to complex orthopedic, soft tissue, and minimally invasive procedures. We're looking for a technician with a strong clinical foundation who enjoys hands-on patient care and is eager to grow their anesthesia skills through advanced techniques and complex cases.

Schedule: Week day shifts

Pay: $30.00 - $51.00 / hour

This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.

Role/Responsibilities:

• Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and recognize/report abnormalities.
• Place IV catheters, perform endotracheal intubation, and operate anesthesia equipment.
• Assist with individualized anesthesia and pain management plans.
• Monitor anesthesia, recognize complications, and respond appropriately.
• Manage IV fluids, CRIs, and infusion pumps while monitoring patient response.
• Support patients through the entire surgical process, from pre-op preparation to recovery.
• Assist with orthopedic, soft tissue, and other specialty surgical procedures.
• Maintain accurate medical records, obtain patient histories, and assist with client communication and discharges.
• Other relevant duties.

Our Continuing Education Plan includes $500/year reimbursement for LVTs and $750/year for VTS. The Continuing Education allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for LVT and VTS associates. Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150/year. Full-time LVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours. Newly hired associates will receive a pro-rated amount of any CE benefit for which they are eligible.
