Sustainability Manager

Description
The Sustainability Manager will be responsible for defining, implementing and driving the sustainability vision and strategy of the Group, supporting its businesses in their long-term environmental, social and governance ambitions. The role ensures that sustainability is embedded into strategy, design, operations and decision-making, while aligning with regulatory requirements, Group frameworks and international best practices. The Sustainability Manager will act as a central reference point for sustainability-related matters across asset management, property management and development functions, contributing to value creation, risk mitigation, resilience and community impact.
Key Responsibilities
Sustainability Strategy & Governance

Define, implement and continuously evolve a Group-wide sustainability roadmap covering environmental, social and governance priorities.
Develop and oversee implementation of sustainability action plans in collaboration with business vertical leaders.
Ensure sustainability considerations are integrated into business strategy, investment decisions and operational planning.

Environmental Performance and Resource Management

Design and manage sustainability indices, Key Result Areas (KRA) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
Implement and monitor tools and technologies to track sustainability performance and data.
Drive initiatives related to energy efficiency, water management, waste reduction and biodiversity protection.
Actively support green building certification processes.

Reporting, Monitoring and Data Management

Coordinate sustainability and carbon reporting for senior management, partners and stakeholders.
Ensure accurate tracking, consolidation and analysis of sustainability data across the Group's activities and businesses.
Support disclosures aligned with Group frameworks and external requirements.
Contribute to internal and external sustainability, ESG and carbon performance communications, including reports, presentations and disclosures.

Compliance, Regulation and Risk Management

Monitor environmental regulations, sustainability legislation and evolving standards.
Advise senior management on compliance obligations and emerging regulatory risks.
Ensure compliance with national laws, industry standards and best practices.
Support submissions and sustainability initiatives presented to relevant authorities, internal governance bodies and other regulatory bodies.
Identify, assess and mitigate sustainability-related risks across the Group's businesses.

Sustainable Design, Innovation and Projects

Actively contribute to master planning, project and infrastructure design, ensuring sustainability is embedded from concept to delivery.
Promote bioclimatic architecture, green and blue infrastructure, biodiversity corridors, stormwater management, landscaping and nature-based solutions.
Advise on innovative construction materials, technologies and methods to reduce environmental impact.
Support pilot projects, innovation initiatives and continuous improvement in sustainable development practices.

Stakeholder and Community Engagement

Work closely with internal teams, consultants, contractors, clients and suppliers to promote sustainable practices.
Work collaboratively with IBL Group's sustainability teams to support IBL Group's sustainability initiatives.
Engage with local communities and stakeholders to strengthen social sustainability, inclusion and resilience.

Budget Management and Value Optimisation

Oversee and monitor budgets allocated to sustainability initiatives and programmes.
Identify cost-effective solutions that balance financial performance with environmental and social outcomes.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Management or a related field.
Minimum 5–7 years' experience in sustainability, environmental management, ESG or related fields.
Strong experience in sustainability strategy, reporting, compliance and project integration.
Exposure to property, real estate, infrastructure, smart cities, hospitality or large-scale developments is a plus.
Solid understanding of environmental regulations, sustainability frameworks and best practices.
Strong analytical, data interpretation, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to operate across strategic, operational and technical dimensions.
