Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and energetic Swim Instructor to join our team in Matteson, IL. This role involves teaching swim techniques, water safety, and survival skills to swimmers of various ages and skill levels. The ideal candidate will have patience, strong communication skills, and a passion for helping others develop confidence and competence in the water.

Responsibilities

• Teach swim techniques and water safety skills to individuals and groups.
• Evaluate and monitor swimmers' progress regularly to ensure skill development.
• Instruct survival skills and promote safe swimming practices.
• Maintain a safe and positive learning environment for all swimmers.
• Communicate effectively with swimmers and parents regarding progress and goals.
• Work flexible hours including weekends and weeknights as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children preferred; internships available.
• Patience, energy, and strong speaking skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and weeknights.
• Commitment to swimmer safety and water safety principles.
• Ability to evaluate and monitor swim progress effectively.
• Entry level candidates welcome; training will be provided to the right candidate.

Additional Information

This position offers flexibility in scheduling with 3 to 20 hours per week available. We encourage candidates who are enthusiastic about teaching and safety to apply, even if they are new to swim instruction. Internships are also available for those looking to gain experience in this field.
