We're hiring enthusiastic, dependable people to join our Alameda Swim Instructor & Deck Safety Team. Never taught swim lessons before? No problem! We provide paid, hands-on training and a structured teaching program that gives you the tools to succeed.
Great Pay + Bonuses That Reward Reliability!
- $25.00/hour when teaching swim lessons in the water
- $22.00/hour when supervising the pool deck
- You'll earn the applicable rate for the role you're performing
- Earn an extra $1.00/hour with qualifying attendance when working one weekend day
- Earn an extra $2.00/hour with qualifying attendance when working both weekend days
- That means you can earn up to $27/hour while teaching with the two-weekend-day attendance bonus after your introductory period!

You don't need previous swim instruction experience to join our team. Our paid training program helps you develop the skills, confidence, and knowledge to become a successful instructor and deck safety supervisor.

- Hands-on training paid at $20.00/hour
- Learn our proven swim lesson curriculum and teaching techniques
- Develop skills in water safety, class management, and working with children
- Training takes place at our Alameda campus for the first 2 weeks

We offer predictable, recurring schedules that make it easier to balance work, school, family, and other commitments. Year-Round Opportunities:
- Weekdays: 2:30 PM – 8:30 PM
- Weekends: 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM or 1:55 PM - 7:55 PM
- Minimum 3 shifts per week
- At least one weekend day required
- Work both weekend days to qualify for the higher attendance bonus!

You'll divide your time between teaching swimming skills in the water and helping maintain a safe, organized pool environment. As a Swim Instructor, you'll:

What You'll Actually Do
You'll divide your time between teaching swimming skills in the water and helping maintain a safe, organized pool environment. As a Swim Instructor, you'll:
- Teach fun, engaging swim lessons using our structured curriculum
- Help children of different ages and abilities develop swimming skills
- Encourage nervous swimmers and celebrate their accomplishments
- Create a positive, supportive environment where kids love learning
- Build confidence, independence, and water safety awareness
As a Deck Safety Supervisor, you'll:
- Help supervise pool activities and monitor the pool deck
- Follow established safety procedures and respond appropriately to concerns
- Support instructors and help classes run smoothly
- Maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming environment
- Communicate with your Manager on Duty and fellow team members
No sitting behind a desk all day! This is a hands-on, people-focused job that keeps you moving and engaged.

- Are at least 18 years old or older
- Genuinely enjoy working with children
- Are positive, enthusiastic, patient, and encouraging
- Show up on time and take your commitments seriously
- Are comfortable swimming and working in the water
- Enjoy being active rather than sitting at a desk
- Can follow safety procedures and work well with a team
- Are willing to learn new skills and accept coaching
- Have current CPR/First Aid certification, with proof required before onboarding begins
Experience working with kids, coaching sports, teaching, or swimming is a plus, but previous swim instruction experience is not required! We're looking for great people with great attitudes who want to learn and contribute.
