Swim Instructor

The YMCA of Indiana County is looking for enthusiastic and dependable Swim Instructors to join our Aquatics team. Swim Instructors help participants of all ages build confidence in the water, develop swimming skills, and learn important water safety skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Under the direction of the Director of Aquatics, Swim Instructors will plan and teach swim lessons following YMCA guidelines while creating a safe, positive, and welcoming experience for swimmers and their families.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach swim lessons to participants of various ages and skill levels.
  • Provide instruction on swimming techniques, water safety, and skill development.
  • Create a positive and encouraging learning environment.
  • Monitor swimmers to ensure safety during all lessons.
  • Track attendance and participant progress.
  • Communicate with participants, parents/guardians, and supervisors.
  • Set up and put away lesson equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe pool area.
  • Follow YMCA policies and safety procedures.
  • Attend required trainings, meetings, and safety drills.

Schedule:

  • Tuesdays: 6:00 p.m. – 8:15 p.m.
  • Thursdays: 6:00 p.m. – 8:15 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Applicants should be available for these lesson times. Availability for Northern Cambria swim lessons on Saturday mornings is preferred.
