Swimming Pool Maintenance Specialist / Supervisor

Position Summary
Akila Global Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Swimming Pool Maintenance Specialist / Supervisor to support the operation and maintenance of one competition swimming pool and one training pool at a school premises.
The successful candidate will supervise routine pool cleaning, water-quality management, chemical dosing, filtration-system maintenance, breakdown response and preparation of maintenance records.
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise and carry out cleaning, brushing and vacuuming of competition and training swimming pools.
· Remove algae, debris and foreign matter from pool surfaces, tile joints, gutters, channels and balancing tanks.
· Test, monitor and record pool-water pH and chlorine levels using suitable digital instruments.
· Ensure pool-water quality complies with prevailing Singapore swimming-pool regulations.
· Manage the safe dosing, handling, storage and usage of pool-treatment chemicals.
· Inspect and maintain circulation pumps, sand filters, strainers, valves, pipelines and associated equipment.
· Check pumps for leakage, abnormal noise, vibration, bearing condition, seal condition and operating pressure.
· Carry out backwashing and routine servicing of commercial sand filters.
· Inspect chemical dosing pumps, tubing, injectors, flow meters, pH sensors and chlorine/ORP sensors.
· Check electrical control panels, contactors, switches, indicator lamps and motor operating conditions.
· Coordinate monthly pool-water sampling and accredited laboratory testing.
· Maintain service checklists, water-test records, repair reports, defect reports and equipment logbooks.
· Identify equipment defects and recommend suitable repair or replacement works.
· Respond to equipment breakdowns, water-quality issues and emergency service calls.
· Supervise annual cleaning of balancing tanks and backwash holding tanks.
· Prepare or assist with Risk Assessments, Safe Work Method Statements and chemical safety documentation.
· Ensure all maintenance activities comply with workplace safety, chemical-handling and school-site requirements.
· Liaise with Akila’s project manager, school representatives, suppliers and laboratory personnel.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
· ITE qualification, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification.
· Relevant certification or documented training in swimming-pool maintenance, operation, water treatment or filtration systems.
· Practical experience in maintaining commercial, institutional or competition swimming pools.
· Knowledge of swimming-pool water chemistry, including pH, chlorine, alkalinity, chemical dosing and algae control.
· Experience with circulation pumps, commercial sand filters, dosing pumps, valves and PVC pipework.
· Ability to diagnose mechanical, filtration and water-quality problems.
· Able to communicate clearly in written and spoken English.
· Able to prepare maintenance reports, water-quality records and service checklists.
· Able to work independently and supervise pool-maintenance workers.
· Available for routine attendance on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
· Able to respond to urgent calls and breakdowns within a short timeframe.
· Legally eligible to work in Singapore.
Preferred Experience
Priority will be given to candidates with:
· Experience maintaining competition pools, school pools, sports complexes or public swimming facilities.
· Relevant pool-maintenance experience from 2022 onward.
· Experience with Emaux commercial sand filters.
· Experience with Pentair circulation pumps.
· Experience with Blue-White chemical dosing pumps or Pahlen auto-dosing systems.
· Knowledge of Singapore swimming-pool water-quality requirements.
· Experience coordinating accredited laboratory water testing.
· Electrical troubleshooting knowledge for pump control panels and motor starters.
· Valid Workplace Safety and Health training.
· Existing pool-maintenance project references and client contacts.
· Availability to provide 24-hour emergency technical support when required.
