Description
System/Driver Domain
- Study, design, develop, debug and verify on the drivers for peripherals(e.g. sfp and fan) and switching ASICs, including integration tests on a NOS system.
- Study, design, develop, debug and verify on the PTP(Precision Time Protocol) related drivers. Study the platform specific PTP related hardware design, collaborate with the hardware designer to understand the required configuration on PTP related hardware component(e.g. FPGA) and implement the required drivers to apply the settings; integrate the PTP hardware related part with the software PTP protocol handing to fulfill the complete PTP functionality.
- Xsight XISA(p4 like, data plan programmability) related development.
- Study, design, develop, debug and verify on the linux-based infrastructure functionalities(e.g. systemd and generate techsupport dump info) on a NOS system.
- Study the latest CVE reports, filter the CVE relevant to our system. Apply the relevant CVE patches and verify the CVE patch on our system.
- Study, design, develop, debug and verify on the emerging new PHY low level technology such as LLR(Link Layer Retry).
- Study, design, develop, debug and verify on the latest layer 1 signal specific issues on different types of transceiver modules(e.g. ZR, LPO modules), various types of cables(e.g. DAC, AEC, AOC) and the issues on CPO.
Protocol Domain
- Study/Design/Develop/Debug/Verify on the L2/L3 network protocols, including software stack and switching ASICs.
- Study/Design/Develop/Debug/Verify on the integration functionalities.
QoS, Security, Layer 4 Domain
- Develop QoS functions (RoCE/COS/DSCP/PG/PFC/ECN/Diffserv).
- Develop Security functions, like 802.1x/RADIUS/TACACS/LDAP/SSH/ACL … etc..
- Develop Utilities functions, like everflow, ERSPAN, NAT … etc..
- Understand chip behavior related to protocols
