We are looking for a detailed-oriented Switch Testing Engineer to drive the quality assurance of our next-generation network switches. In this role, you will bridge the gap between hardware and software, designing rigorous test plans to validate Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, performance, and stability.
What You’ll Do:
1. Based on PRD requirement to create & update detailed test plans, cases and execution
2. Execute black-box and white-box testing for key L2/L3 switching features, including VLANs, STP/RSTP/MSTP, LACP, OSPF, BGP, and Multicast (IGMP/PIM)
3. Utilize traffic generators (Ixia/Spirent/Xena) to stress-test switch throughput, latency, jitter, and buffer management under line-rate conditions
4. Proficiency in IPv4/IPv6 routing, Static Routing, OSPF, BGP, VRRP/HSRP
5. Identify, isolate, and document complex software/firmware defects in Jira. Work closely with development teams to reproduce issues and verify fixes

【Essential Requirements】
1. Execute black-box and white-box testing for key L2/L3 switching features, including VLANs, STP/RSTP/MSTP, LACP, QoS, DHCP relay, static route,ACL and Multicast (IGMP/PIM)
2. Deep understanding of Ethernet switching, 802.1Q VLANs, MAC learning, Link Aggregation (LACP), LLDP, and Spanning Tree Protocols (STP/RSTP/MSTP)
3. Proficiency in IPv4/IPv6 routing, Static Routing, VRRP/HSRP
4. Utilize traffic generators to stress-test switch throughput, latency, jitter, and buffer management under line-rate conditions
5. Familiar with packet capture and analyze
6. Familiarity with QA methodologies and test management tools/testing servers
【Preferred Qualifications】
1. Experience on automation tools and scripting - Python preferred
2. Experience on testing BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP
3. Network Certificates - CCNA/CCNP
