Role Purpose:
This is a newly created role, reporting into the Head of Finance. The Finance team is stretched by recurring system, mapping and integration issues that create manual work and rework, particularly around month-end.

This role exists to fix that: owning NetSuite and our wider finance systems landscape, resolving the underlying issues rather than working around them, and acting as the bridge between Finance and IT.

You'll work closely with the Head of Finance and Finance Manager to prioritise fixes, build a clearer systems roadmap, and free up the team's capacity for higher-value analysis and reporting.

Areas of Responsibility

1. Systems Ownership & Administration

• Act as system administrator for NetSuite (and our wider finance systems), owning configuration, user access, workflows and master data integrity.
• Own end-to-end resolution of recurring system, mapping and integration issues across NetSuite and connected platforms (Global-e, Shopify, Braintree, PayPal, HSBC banking, Pleo).
• Act as the day-to-day bridge between Finance and IT/external system support, helping prioritise and manage the relationship with our systems suppliers.
• Maintain clear documentation of system configuration, workflows and known issues.

2. Process Improvement & Automation

• Identify and lead systems and process improvements that reduce manual workarounds across AP, bank reconciliations and month-end.
• Design and implement automation opportunities to create capacity across the finance team.
• Partner with the Head of Finance and Finance Manager to agree and prioritise the highest-impact fixes.

3. Month-End & Reporting Support

• Support the stabilisation of month-end close by resolving the system issues driving delays and rework.
• Support development of NetSuite reporting, dashboards and BI/data warehouse tooling to improve the quality and timeliness of management information.
• Support ad hoc reporting requests from Finance and the wider business.

4. Projects & Implementation

• Support system upgrades, new integrations and implementations (e.g. banking migrations, marketplace setup, website re-platform), working closely with IT and external suppliers.
• Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) of system changes before go-live.
• Train finance team members on new tools, reports and processes.

5. Controls & Compliance

• Ensure system controls support data integrity, a clear audit trail and compliance requirements.
• Support the annual audit with system-related documentation and evidence.

Essential

• Significant hands-on experience administering and configuring NetSuite, including resolving system, mapping and integration issues within a finance function not just working around them.
• Solid grounding in accounting fundamentals, with either a recognised accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent finance-systems experience.
• Strong Excel and data skills; comfortable working with reports, reconciliations and financial data at volume.
• A proactive problem-solver, comfortable working across Finance and IT and translating technical issues for a non-technical audience.
• Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to collaborate closely with a London-based team while working remotely.

Desirable

• Experience with ecommerce/retail finance systems payment gateways, marketplaces, bank feeds (e.g. Braintree, PayPal, Shopify, Global-e).
• SQL or report-writing experience.
• Experience supporting system implementations, upgrades or migrations (e.g. banking platform changes).

Role Overview:
This role would suit an experienced NetSuite/finance-systems professional who enjoys fixing root-cause problems rather than firefighting and wants to shape the systems foundation of a growing retail and ecommerce business.
