System Administrator
Summary
Senior system administrator on Avertra's IT support team in Amman, running day-to-day systems across on-prem and cloud: AWS/Azure compute and storage, Active Directory/Okta identity, Google Workspace, Slack, endpoint protection, backups, and monitoring, plus occasional second-level desktop support. Core tech: Azure, AWS, Windows Server, PowerShell.

- System administration duties.
- AWS and Azure Cloud Compute and Storage Administration.
- Google Suite (Workspace) Administration experience.
- Slack Administration experience.
- Data analysis, scripting, and automation to improve operations.
- Enterprise Applications Administration and Monitoring.
- Active Directory and Identity Management Administration (on premise, Azure Active Directory, and Okta).
- Kaspersky endpoint protection Administration experience (Cloud).
- Monitor system, server, cloud, and network alerts; resolve issues.
- Manage backups and restores on premise and in the Azure Cloud.
- Monitor and test data replication / synchronization and disaster recovery systems.
- Manage asset tracking for responsible offices.
- Ensure that rights management and security comply with company policy.
- Work closely with other regional IT support teams to maintain company infrastructure.
- Participate in project initiatives.
- Work closely with the Cybersecurity team on cloud, infrastructure, application, security, and compliance projects.
- Work in the role of Subject Matter Expert (SME) for certain areas of responsibility.
- Provide second level desktop support at times for desktops and laptops; includes contact with user community and requires great customer service skills.
- Be on call for After-Hours Emergency Support coverage approximately four weeks a year Plan for reliability by designing systems to work across our multi-region and multi-cloud environments.

- Microsoft Office application experience (i.e., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Teams)
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, equipment, technology, and other performance-monitoring tools
- Strong knowledge of Azure and/or AWS offerings, equipment, technology, and other performance-monitoring tools.
- 5+ years of IT work experience
- 5+ years of Windows Server environment administration
- 5+ years of Windows 11/10 desktop administration
- 2+ years working with Windows Server Active Directory
- 2+ years working with Azure Active Directory
- 2+ years working with Azure Portal for configuration and administration of Azure virtual machines, networking.
- 1+ years working with Azure Sentinel
- 1+ years working with Azure Monitor
- Strong experience with endpoint computing including PCs, Citrix XenApp, and VDI
- PowerShell Scripting
- A solid understanding and experience working with major compliance standards such as HIPAA or SOC2 is preferred.
- Infrastructure-As-A-Code experience would be highly desirable.
- Strong experience in implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Microsoft Azure solutions, including major services related to Compute, Storage, Network and Security
- Strong knowledge of Backup, Restore, Recovery and high availability strategies for Microsoft Azure environments.
- Strong knowledge of IaaS and PaaS services
- Windows Server and SQL database creation, configuration, upgrade, migration, and patching
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving Azure environment performance issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot Azure server and SQL database related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resources.
- Strong understanding and background of working with a complex Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP, and the requirement of strictly following standards, procedures, and processes.
- Advanced knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Kerberos and Windows Authentication
- Knowledge of network protocols such as: DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, SFTP
- A good understanding of wireless technologies (Ruckus preferred but not mandatory)
- Knowledge of Network and TCP/IP routing/subnetting.
- Knowledge of network equipment/IOS: routing, switching, and firewalls a plus
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems.
- Working knowledge of VPN connectivity and client trouble shooting.
- Excellent PowerShell skills
- Experience with Azure AD, Active Directory including managing/maintaining GPOs
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
- Red Hat: RHCSA and RHCE
- Linux Professional Institute (LPI): LPIC System Administrator
- CompTIA Server+
- VMware Certified Professional – Data Centre Virtualization (VCP-DCV)
