System Administrator (Linux / Virtual Sports)

Day to day: manage and monitor production servers, applications, databases and streaming environments, install/upgrade systems, tune performance, write documentation, and handle escalated issues with 1st-level support. Core stack: Debian/Ubuntu, Nginx/HAProxy/Apache, ProxMox/KVM.

GlobalBet is an independent B2B provider of virtual sports solutions. We build realistic virtual sports products used by operators worldwide. We’re hiring a System Administrator for a full-time engagement.
The role
Remote. Working hours Mon–Fri ~10:00–18:00 Ukraine time. Start ASAP. Day-to-day work in English. Engagement via independent contractor agreement with full-time focus (not a multi-client freelance side gig).
You’ll:
- Manage and monitor servers, applications, and databases
- Handle escalated customer issues with 1st-level support
- Maintain and upgrade server environments; monitor performance and create alerts
- Manage streaming environments (server-based and cloud)
- Install/configure OS and applications; troubleshoot system and network problems
- Keep documentation for support and customers
Must have:
- 2+ years hands-on Linux in production (Debian/Ubuntu strongly preferred): users, permissions, packages/updates, troubleshooting, performance
- Network fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls)
- Web servers (Nginx, HAProxy, and/or Apache)
- Virtualization (ProxMox, KVM/libvirt, or similar)
- English B1+ (B2 preferred)
Nice to have:
Windows Server (AD/Azure/SQL/M365); MySQL replication/backups; MongoDB/Redis/RabbitMQ; Sophos/Ubiquiti; occasional off-hours flexibility.
