System Administrator (maintenance-focused IT projects)
Summary
System Administrator for maintenance-focused IT projects: handles patch/upgrade management, backups and recovery, performance tuning, vendor liaison, and manages infrastructure such as Windows/Linux/UNIX VMs, SAN storage, databases, firewalls and VPN, with roster-based on-call support at project offices in Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong.
We’re seeking a System Administrator to join us!
You will play a key role in daily operations including:
Patch/upgrade management, planning, and reporting tasks progress.
Vendors liaison for hardware troubleshooting, repair and replacement.
Performance tuning and monitoring.
Backup and recovery for critical systems.
Supporting and managing various infrastructure components like VM, Windows, Linux, UNIX, SAN storage, databases, routers, firewalls, switches, load balancer, HSM, VPN, UPS etc.
Collaborating cross-functionally with internal & external stakeholders to deliver daily strategic advice to clients.
Taking roster-based support calls with allowances and flexible working hours.
Producing/Updating clear and accurate technical documentation for IT environments.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Engineering or related disciplines.
Minimum 4 years of solid experience in server virtualization, Windows, Linux and/or Unix, SAN as well as LAN/WAN technology. A definite plus if you have knowledge of Huawei products.
Able to complete tasks independently and provide progress updates proactively to Manager.
Experience in Government related maintenance project is preferred.
Experience in aligning people, building trust and boosting overall group performance is advantageous.
Responsible, self-driven, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good communication, and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to take up additional responsibilities assigned by Manager to expand your potential to a Team Lead.
Open to work in our project offices in Tseung Kwan O.
Candidates with less experience or fresh graduates will also be considered as System Engineer.
Potential sub-team leader with sense of ownership and flexibility about working hours and roster-based on-call arrangements including associated allowances.
