Office Location & Hybrid Model

About The Role
We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and reliable System Administrator to join our Technology team. Reporting to the Team Lead, IT Infrastructure & Operations, this position is responsible for developing and maintaining Microsoft Windows Server and SQL database environments and managing network infrastructure across two data centres.
The successful candidate will support software developers in delivering applications that meet business needs in a timely and effective manner. This role will also work closely with the Senior System Administrator in implementing a technology infrastructure roadmap that maximizes the organization's investments in hardware and software technologies.
What You’ll Do
Design, develop, implement, and maintain server, database, and network infrastructure solutions.
Monitor and tune corporate database and infrastructure environments for optimum performance.
Research, evaluate, and recommend software products and tools related to database and infrastructure management.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation and network infrastructure diagrams.
Collaborate with project teams in the design, development, and review of technology solutions.
Manage infrastructure-related projects according to established budgets and schedules.
Perform backup duties on Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server environments.
Monitor critical IT infrastructure and respond to automated alerts to ensure systems remain operational
What You’ll Bring
Work Experience
3 - 5 years of Windows Server and Azure administration experience.
2 - 3 years of network infrastructure administration experience.
2 - 3 years of experience in managing and administering Exchange Online environments, including mailbox management, email flow configuration, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of the investment fund industry systems, operations, technical and business processes (an asset, but not required).
Education
University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science (or equivalent experience in the field).
Preference will be given to applicants with relevant certificates and training in Information Technology.
Preference will be given to applicants with current training and skill-sets.
Technical
3 - 5 years of hands-on experience in a Microsoft Server and Azure environment.
2 - 3 years of hands-on experience in Cisco switch and firewall environments.
2 - 3 years of Microsoft SQL Server administration, configuration, installation, and maintenance.
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate desired, but not required in lieu of experience configuring Azure services and resources.
Cisco CCNA desired, but not required in lieu of experience configuring Cisco devices.
Proficiency in writing and executing PowerShell scripts to automate administrative tasks, manage system configurations, and streamline workflows.
Experience in performance monitoring of servers and networks.
Experience in managing enterprise-level anti-virus and anti-malware hosted solutions.
Familiarity with Hyper-V virtual environments and knowledge of mass storage platforms.
Soft Skills

Ability to work with minimal supervision to prioritize and manage work.

Operational Requirements
Able to lift, move, and deploy (rack mount) IT equipment weighing 40 lbs. or more, including servers, PCs, routers, and switches.
Comfortable working in server rooms and data centres, including high-voltage and noisy environments
Able to deploy PCs and network equipment, including crawling under desks and accessing workstations where required.
Able to work independently during early mornings, evenings, and weekends with minimal supervision.
Capable of sitting or standing for extended periods while working at a computer.
Able to provide after-hours support and respond to automated alerts affecting critical IT infrastructure
