About the Position
We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to manage and support the information technology systems used across our office and workshop.
The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining our servers, network, databases, security systems and business software to ensure that information remains accurate, secure, backed up and available to staff.
The duties and responsibility:
- Build and maintain our compliance and dealership database structures, including tables, data dictionaries and naming conventions, and keep vehicle, supplier and customer master records accurate.
- Administer the systems that track vehicle import status through shipping, customs clearance, compliance and registration, including our customs and logistics software.
- Manage and maintain our backups, recovery procedures and integrity controls, and take responsibility for system security and disaster recovery planning.
- Implement and administer database documentation, guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Test databases and system upgrades before release, including debugging, tracking, logging and resolving problems.
- Liaise with security vendors, suppliers and service providers, install and maintain security software, and monitor contracts and service level agreements.
- Diagnose and repair server, workstation and communication infrastructure faults, and support staff day to day.
- Keep our operating procedures and IT records up to date, including logs of maintenance, changes and repairs.
- Make sure our servers, cabling, wireless and workstations across the office and workshop are set up to work together properly, and keep an eye on network speed and reliability.
- Review our current IT setup as the business grows and recommend the server and network upgrades to the management.
What we are looking for
- A bachelor degree or higher in information technology, computer science or a related field; minimum 2 years of relevant systems administration experience
- Hands-on experience administering servers, networks and business databases in a commercial environment.
- Practical experience with backup and recovery, IT security and disaster recovery planning.
- Sound troubleshooting ability across hardware, software and network infrastructure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
