System Administrator

Job Overview

We are seeking skilled and proactive IT System Administrators to join our team on a 6-month to 2-year secondment basis, stationed at banking clients in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily administration, maintenance, and support of the banks' IT infrastructure, with a strong focus on Unix/Linux servers, enterprise storage, backup systems, and Oracle Databases.

Key Responsibilities

• System Administration: Perform daily monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Unix & Linux server infrastructure to ensure high availability.

• Database & OS Management: Oversee Oracle Database operations, including the execution and management of corresponding Database and OS patches to ensure system stability and security.

• Storage & Backup Management: Manage enterprise storage systems (SAN/NAS) and oversee daily backup operations, including regular backup restoration tests.

• System Security & Patching: Execute regular vulnerability remediation and system upgrades in accordance with the banks' security policies.

• Incident & Problem Management: Respond to system alerts, investigate root causes, and provide technical support to resolve infrastructure issues efficiently.

• Documentation: Maintain up-to-date system configurations, operational procedures, and disaster recovery documentation.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in IT system administration, preferably within the banking, financial, or large corporate sector.

• Solid hands-on experience in Unix/Linux environments (e.g., IBM AIX, RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), SUSE Linux).

• Practical experience in Oracle Database basic administration and patch management is highly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of Enterprise Storage (e.g., NetApp, Huawei Dorado) and Backup solutions (e.g., Commvault, Veeam).

• Familiarity with shell scripting (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation is an advantage.

• A good team player with strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently under pressure.

• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese).
