Description:
- In-depth
knowledge of Windows OS and Linux (Centos, RedHat, Oracle
Linux, Ubuntu).
- 6-8 years professional systems maintenance
experience in Windows & Linux operating systems including
installing, configuring, and troubleshooting
- Experience with Windows & Linux servers
including demonstrated expertise in performance tuning, upgrades,
migrations, and maintenance
- Proven experience installing, supporting and
troubleshooting Linux/Windows
on various hardware makes/models as well as in virtualized environments
- Strong knowledge of SAN storage technologies.
- Strong experience with system management tools, logical
file systems, and server environments.
- Experience with monitoring, metrics, and log
aggregation and visualization tools (Nagios, Zenoss in particular)
- Experience with the Unix CLI, debugging tools, and
network stack.
- Excellent
knowledge of FTP, TCP/IP, LDAP, DNS, SNMP, SSL, IIS, AD, and IPSec.
- Maintain
Virtual environments, including on-premises (Hyper-V/VMware/OVM)
and Azure/Oracle cloud platforms.
- Working knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure - Azure or
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Working knowledge of core networking, subnetting,
Firewalls, and routing.
- Implement and maintain configuration management and system hardening controls.
- Perform automated and manual backup and restorative
processes.
- Functional knowledge of core network protocols such as
TCP/IP, SSH, SMTP, NFS and DNS
- Ability to write and edit scripts to automate regular
operational tasks
- Knowledge and experience with shell scripting
- Solid understanding of Linux & Windows based
operating system including paging and swapping, inter-process
communication, devices and what device drivers do, filesystem concepts
(inode, clustering, logical partitions), etc. is a must
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a
team environment.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to
maintain detailed documentation.
- Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced
environment.
- Exercise sound judgment in all areas of responsibility.
- Must be creative and can look at problems from multiple
vantage points.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritizes workload, and
successfully handles competing deadlines
