System Analyst
Summary
Designs and implements banking platform components, integrates systems, and leads multi-vendor teams using Java, DevOps tools, and microservices to meet compliance and performance needs.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the BA, infra, deployments and vendor teams.
• Use and manage vendor augmented resources and ensure work assignments for high utilization and effective, quality outcomes while avoiding re-work
• Drive technical innovation to enhance functional and technical capabilities of the platform
• Build frameworks for configuration instead of code for each component
• Communicate with technical and non-technical resources and work with limited direction while being highly productive
• Apply standards and industry frameworks while leverage existing technologies and tools in the Bank
• Implement solutions considering functionality, data, security, integration, infrastructure and performance.
• Produce detailed design /low level design documents that communicate the system design effectively
• Drive adherence to development, configuration management and deployment standards for solutions
• Analyse performance test, vulnerability assessments and any other test related issues that arise during projects
• Manage, address and resolve project-related technical issues in a timely fashion, ensuring necessary escalation and communication to stakeholders as necessary
• Select, train, develop and manage technical team members in a conducive team environment
• Lead multi-vendor teams to successfully deliver solutions
• Guide the project team in issue resolution to meet the requirements and timelines
Requirements:
Education:
- Degree with 8-10 years of current, hands on technical experience
Essential:
- Go getter attitude with strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Solid understanding of:
o AIX O/S and/or RedHat platform and scripting skills
o Java and internet-related components (i.e: JSON, XML)
o iPlanet, WebSphere, WebLogic, Database, Sql
o DevOps suite of products (i.e: Jenkins, GitHub, Sonar, Aldon, etc)
o Connect Direct, SFTP, basic UNIX commands
o Perf tuning and automation in general Working knowledge of microservice implementation, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and Kafka.
- Experience of complete software development lifecycles – waterfall and agile project experience
- General understanding of banking and knowledge and application of banking technology and regulations/compliance
- Understanding of data security, privacy, data protection, regulatory and compliance procedures
- Strong oral communication and writing skills
- Strong team building, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Passionate and results orientated
