System Analyst (Microservices)
Salary: $7,000 – $10,000 per month
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for requirement analysis, effort estimation and application solution design to deliver scalable, secure and reliable middleware systems that support business-critical applications and services
Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into detailed functional and technical specifications
Lead discussions with Functional Business Analysts (FBAs), Solution Architects and IT stakeholders to define end-to-end technical solutions, ensuring alignment with architectural, security and regulatory standards and business goals.
Define integration requirements between internal and external bank systems
Design middleware and integration solutions based on business and technical requirements
Partner with Application teams to define architecture diagrams, interface specifications, data flow diagrams and technical design document
Design and document REST/SOAP APIs, messaging services, file transfers and event-driven integrations
Conduct fit-gap analysis to assess alignment with functional and non-functional requirements.
Perform impact analysis to identify affected systems and coordinate with relevant application teams for assessments.
Facilitate walkthrough sessions of solution designs with stakeholders, including FBAs, testing teams (TCoE), and business users.
Review and validate technical design specifications and perform critical code reviews to ensure quality and compliance with design standards.
Support the design of high-level test strategies and ensure test coverage for critical business functions.
Collaborate with relevant teams during system integration, user acceptance, regression, and performance testing phases.
Provide guidance to testers and users on system configurations, including card parameter setup and end-to-end reconciliation processes.
Manage defect triaging and resolution in collaboration with development and testing teams.
Deliver post-implementation support and troubleshoot functional issues as needed.
Identify, document, and escalate project or process risks to ensure timely mitigation.
Key Requirements
At least 10 years’ experience as a System Analyst, Technical Analyst or Integration Analyst. Preferably with 6 to 8 years of working experience in Cards Functional Domain / payment networks in banking industry
Specialization in Open System Integration to Host (e.g., CardLinK):
Proven experience in Open System Integration, particularly with CardLinK platforms for transaction processing and payment plan enablement
Strong working knowledge of 3DS (Three-Domain Secure) protocols for secure online authentication
Familiarity with API-based architectures, ISO 8583 messaging, and secure data exchange standards
Design and deliver enhancement to the middleware system to support new capabilities
Proven experience as a System Analyst or similar role in Cards Application environments.
Recent Cards Domain Exposure – Hands-on experience working directly with Cards Applications within the last 2 years is required.
Strong understanding of the card product lifecycle, card management processes, and the broader card payment ecosystem.
Practical experience with Cards online and batch interfaces, including familiarity with related processes.
Ability to take the System Analyst lead role on projects, typically starting prior to the Build phase.
Project Engagement Flexibility – capability to support multiple projects, when one project is on a non-critical phase for SA support.
Capable of working independently while maintaining a holistic view of system and business impacts.
Experience working closely with development teams, system architects, Functional Business Analysts (FBAs), and senior stakeholders.
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver presentations for non-technical and senior audiences.
Technical Skills
Good Understanding of Java /J2EE design patterns
Experience with:
o REST API and SOAP Web Services
o JSON, XML, XSD and API specifications
o Message Queues (IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka, ActiveMQ)
o API Gateway solutions
o Microservices architecture
o At least one of Oracle, MS SQL, Maria DB or any NoSQL
