System Analyst (SA) - HKEX Special Project

About the role
As the System Analyst for the HKEX project, you will be responsible for requirement elicitation, business analysis and functional specification definition for financial IT systems. Acting as the key bridge between business stakeholders and development teams, you will engage HKEX clients and translate IPO and Listing business requirements into well-structured, compliant FRS documents. You will ensure system design complies with HKEX Listing Rules and SFC regulatory requirements to support high-quality project delivery.
Key responsibilities
Liaise with HKEX clients to elicit and analyse business requirements for IPO / Listing workflows, decompose business processes, prepare FRS (Functional Requirement Specification) and system interaction prototypes.
Conduct requirement management: maintain requirement traceability matrix, control requirement change process, conduct requirement briefing to development and testing teams to ensure consistent understanding of business requirements.
Identify business compliance risks during system analysis, verify that solutions meet HKEX business rules, data retention, audit trail and other mandatory regulatory controls.
Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning, facilitate UAT with client, collect feedback and track defects closure to ensure system functions match business requirements.
Attend regular project meetings to align requirements, risks and client feedback; build HKEX business knowledge assets and reusable requirement templates for the team.
Work closely with SA Lead, Technical Lead and Project Manager to estimate requirement effort, identify business risks and join solution reviews.
About you
Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, FinTech or related disciplines.
Minimum 5 years of system analysis experience in financial IT, with hands-on experience across full software development lifecycle.
Proficient in requirement management tools (JIRA / Confluence), proven experience in FRS drafting, requirement traceability and change management.
Familiar with HKEX IPO application, Listing disclosure and ongoing listing maintenance.
Knowledge of HKEX Listing Rules and SFC regulatory requirements is preferred.
Prior system analysis experience on listing support systems for HKEX, securities firms or asset management firms is a plus; understanding of audit and compliance controls for financial IT systems.
Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills, able to align with business, development and testing teams; good at business abstraction and risk identification with strong attention to details.
Fluent in English and Cantonese for direct business and requirement discussions with HKEX clients; fluent Mandarin for communication with mainland R&D teams.
Strong self-motivation, high accountability and resilience. Capable of handling multiple requirement tasks in parallel and adapting to fast-paced financial project delivery.
