System Analyst (Web/Mobile App)
Summary
Systems analyst at BOCI-Prudential Trustee (Hong Kong pension/MPF provider) leading analysis and solution design for the company's web apps, mobile apps and digital portal — spanning backend services, APIs, integrations, vendor oversight, security/testing and releases. Needs 8+ years IT experience, iOS/Android delivery, Microsoft SQL Server, and spoken Mandarin.
Responsibilities:
Work with the different application teams to deliver and support the company Web, mobile App and our digital portal expansion initiatives.
Lead systems analysis and solution design for the web and mobile applications, including backend services, APIs, data flows and integration with existing systems.
Work with System Analysts, Business Analysts and project managers to translate business requirements into technical specifications and delivery plans.
Oversee external service providers’ technical work, review solution designs and development deliverables, and resolve complex technical issues and dependencies.
Coordinate with the Technical and Cybersecurity teams on application server setup, access control, security, performance and production readiness.
Support system integration testing, defect resolution, deployment and release activities for both platforms.
Investigate escalated application and production issues, identify root causes and coordinate sustainable fixes.
Prepare and maintain system design, interface and operational documentation.
Support security testing, IT audits and compliance reviews relating to the supported applications.
Requirements:
Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 8 years of IT experience, including at least 3 years in systems analysis or a similar application delivery role.
Strong experience with web application architecture and application server environments, including deployment, configuration, API integration, performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
Experience in iOS and Android mobile app development or technical delivery, including integration with backend services, testing, security and release processes.
Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL queries, stored procedures, data structures and investigation of application data or performance issues.
Familiarity with APIs, microservices, containers, Git and CI/CD practices. Experience with relevant programming frameworks is an advantage.
Good understanding of authentication, access control and secure development practices for customer-facing applications.
Experience overseeing external developers or service providers and coordinating technical delivery across multiple teams.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and documentation skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Good command of spoken and written English and Mandarin; spoken Mandarin is essential.
Experience in financial services, pensions or customer portal development is preferred.
