System and Security Engineer

This is a remote position.

Location: Remote (Sydney Time Zone: 8:00 AM start, 8-hour workday)

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled System and Security Engineer to join our team. This is a remote position, but the candidate must be available to work according to Sydney time. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing our IT infrastructure while ensuring seamless operations and support for our systems and users.



Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Administration: Management and maintenance of Physical Servers, VMware ESXi Servers, Windows Server 2022/2025, Linux Servers, NAS Servers, and Domain Servers.
  • Network Administration: Expertise in Firewall, Router, and Switch maintenance, VLAN configuration, SSL VPN, Open VPN, and overall Networking.
  • Server Deployment: Configure, Deploy and manage Domain Controller, File Server, Remote Desktop Servers and Exchange Servers effectively.
  • User Support: Provide Desktop, Laptop, Printer, and VOIP PBX support to end-users.
  • Scripting and Automation: Develop and maintain Bash scripts to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery: Manage and deploy backup and replication software like Veeam to ensure data integrity.
  • Security Operations: Handle SIEM, SOC, EDR, and MDR deployment and monitoring to strengthen security posture.
  • AI Utilization: Leverage AI tools and techniques to enhance work efficiency and streamline processes.
  • Other IT Management: Configure and manage Exchange Servers, handle networking issues, and deploy and monitor security protocols.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of Networking concepts and practices.
  • Proven experience with:
    • VMware ESXi, Windows Server, and Linux systems.
    • NAS Servers, Domain Servers, and Exchange Servers.
    • VLANs, Firewalls, Routers, Switches, and SSL/Open VPN.
    • Bash scripting for automation.
    • Backup and replication tools (e.g. Veeam).
    • SIEM, SOC, EDR, and MDR tools.
  • Ability to utilize AI tools to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Familiarity with VOIP PBX configuration and printer support.
  • Excellent English communication skills, especially in Speaking.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA, and CEH are a plus.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and in challenging situations.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
