Job Description\:

You’ll play a key role in shaping technical solutions within the Engineering Support Competency Centre, working across engineering, manufacturing and support services to deliver integrated systems that support global programmes. You will define solution architecture, working with modern engineering tools and technologies to ensure systems are aligned to business needs, scalable and fit for purpose.

Collaborating with internal teams, external vendors and project managers, you’ll support design, planning and delivery activities while ensuring solutions meet quality, cost and timescale requirements. This role offers exposure to global projects, opportunities to influence innovative engineering systems and considerable development potential within a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

Core duties\:

  • Defining solution architectures, ensuring designs meet business requirements within cost, time and technical constraints
  • Capturing current and future system architectures, supporting application, data and technology design across projects
  • Reviewing and assuring technical designs, ensuring solutions are fit for purpose and aligned to standards
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers, supporting design delivery and system integration activities
  • Supporting project planning, reviewing estimates and schedules to ensure effective and timely solution delivery

Essential Skills\:

  • Experience designing, developing, testing and releasing information systems within structured engineering or IT environments
  • Knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, supporting consistent and scalable solution design
  • Experience overseeing incidents and problems, ensuring timely resolution and system stability
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders, including customers, suppliers and internal teams across projects
  • Relevant technical background or experience in systems engineering, IT architecture or similar disciplines

Working across engineering, manufacturing and support services, this function delivers critical technical solutions that enable global programmes to run effectively.
