Shape the System from Concept to Mission: Join Us as a Systems Engineer!

At Adaptic, Systems Engineers help turn complex mission needs into solutions that work. Supporting the DoD and Intelligence Community, you’ll work across the system lifecycle—helping define what needs to be built, shaping how it should work, and ensuring the final solution delivers against mission requirements.

We’re looking for Systems Engineers who can see both the big picture and the technical details. You’ll work alongside customers, developers, project teams, and partner organizations to translate operational needs into clear requirements and help establish a shared technical and architectural vision.

Your Impact

You’ll help guide systems from early concepts through development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment. Day-to-day, that can look like:

• Defining and documenting Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), system and operational requirements, and use cases
• Translating customer and mission needs into actionable technical requirements
• Performing high-level system design and helping shape overall solution architecture
• Defining system and component performance, interface, and integration requirements
• Developing installation, integration, and acceptance test plans
• Working with customers, development teams, and partner organizations to ensure solutions satisfy technical and operational requirements
• Supporting engineering activities throughout the full system lifecycle, from concept and design through testing, deployment, operations, maintenance, and support
• Evaluating existing engineering processes and work products to identify opportunities for improvement
• Helping teams continuously improve how technical solutions are planned, developed, documented, and delivered
• Defining and communicating a shared technical and architectural vision across product teams
• Bringing together technical stakeholders to solve complex system-level challenges and keep development aligned with mission objectives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; OR
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics, plus at least 1 year of relevant experience
• Experience supporting engineering systems across their lifecycle, including areas such as conception, design and development, testing, production, deployment, operations, maintenance, and support
• Experience developing or working with system requirements, use cases, system designs, interfaces, integration, or test activities
• Ability to translate complex operational needs into clear technical requirements and solutions
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across customers, engineers, developers, and other technical stakeholders
