System Engineer
We are looking for a System Engineer to be part of Camtek R&D, leading system-level understanding and performance across multidisciplinary domains. In this role, you will translate customer needs into robust system requirements and drive development from concept through validation.
Description
- Own system performance end to end — definition, analysis, modeling, and simulation.
- Gather customer needs and workflows, and translate them into system requirements.
- Lead systems characterization, conceptual design, feasibility studies, and V&V activities.
- Support system integration, calibration, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis — including critical issues under time pressure.
- Contribute to UI/UX definition for new products.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation: system architecture diagrams, SOPs, test and analysis reports.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams across R&D (mechanical, electro-optics, software, IT/DevOps), marketing, and customer support.
- Travel globally to customer sites as needed.

- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or another high-level programming language.
- Experience with and understanding of semiconductor industry processes.
- Fluent English, written and verbal.
- Strong analytical skills — able to diagnose system failures and drive them to resolution.
- Proven ability to write clear technical documentation and communicate findings to mixed audiences.
Advantage
- M.Sc. in Systems Engineering.
- Experience in motion control systems
Mindset
- Creative and analytical problem solver, comfortable owning ambiguity.
- Strong teamwork across disciplines and time zones.
- Proficiency in creating technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and system architecture diagrams.
