System Engineer (EAI-MFT / File Transfer Support) | Yearly Renewable Contract
Salary: $6,000 – $6,900 per month
Job Summary
The System Engineer is responsible for:
Managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure.
Installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
Ensuring the highest levels of system and infrastructure availability.
Creating and maintaining jobs in the EFT application.
Performing health checks for jobs after monthly infrastructure maintenance.
Responsibilities
System & Infrastructure Management
Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
Perform system patching, application deployment, and reporting.
Proactively ensure the highest levels of system and infrastructure availability.
Application Support & Performance
Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks.
Identify possible solutions and work with developers to implement fixes.
Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
Automation & Administration
Write and maintain custom scripts to improve system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Perform SLIFT Key, SFTP Password, SSL Certificate, and RDP Certificate changes.
Maintain the software inventory list.
Essential Qualifications
Relevant IT experience in system engineering, system administration, infrastructure support, or application support.
Good working knowledge and hands-on experience with:
File Transfer Technologies, including SFTP
File Encryption and Security Technologies
Windows Administration
UNIX/Linux environments and Cron scheduling
Scripting for system administration and automation
Working knowledge of Java Web Application Development and JEE Frameworks.
Working knowledge of COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) applications and tools used in EAI-MFT (Enterprise Application Integration – Managed File Transfer) environments.
Familiarity with XML, Oracle PL/SQL, and MS SQL query language.
Ability to perform system monitoring, patching, application deployment, troubleshooting, and health checks.
Experience supporting system availability, security, backup, and redundancy requirements.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to work with developers, infrastructure teams, and other technical stakeholders to resolve system and application issues.
