System Engineer (IT Infrastructure & AI Automation)

Joined by a collaborative and tech-driven team of 10–15 engineering professionals, you will play a central role in evaluating, deploying, and supporting modern IT solutions with a focus on automation and AI integration.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a proactive and forward-thinking System Engineer to handle IT solution evaluation, implementation, and post-sales technical support. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional team members to deliver infrastructure, virtualization, backup, and cloud-native solutions. We strongly encourage creative problem-solving and expect the candidate to leverage AI tools and prompt engineering to streamline workflows, enhance troubleshooting, and automate routine tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Solution Evaluation & Proof of Concept (PoC):

  • Assess modern IT infrastructure products, software, and enterprise solutions to match customer requirements.

  • Conduct technical evaluations, test environments, and PoC demonstrations for client projects.

• Deployment & Setup:

  • Configure, install, and deploy enterprise IT hardware and software, including servers, storage systems, backup software and hypervisors.

  • Deploy and maintain Kubernetes (K8s) clusters and containerized environments.

  • VM workload migration between Hypervisors and Cloud platform

  • Perform basic security hardening on Operating Systems (Linux/Windows), Hypervisors, and Kubernetes clusters according to industry best practices.

• Automation & AI Integration:

  • Utilize AI tools (e.g., LLMs, AI coding assistants, automated diagnostic tools) to accelerate script development, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.

  • Develop automation scripts (Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, etc.) to streamline setup, monitoring, and administrative tasks.

  • Actively propose and experiment with creative AI-driven solutions to improve operational efficiency.

• After-Sales Support & Maintenance:

  • Provide Tier 2 / Tier 3 technical support, incident management, and root-cause analysis for enterprise clients.

  • Perform regular health checks, system upgrades, patches, and backup/disaster recovery drills.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Education & Experience:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, system integration, or technical support within an IT service provider/SI context.

• Technical Skills:

  • Core Infrastructure: Sound knowledge of server hardware, enterprise storage (SAN/NAS), networking fundamentals, and backup/recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault).

  • Virtualization & Cloud-Native: Experience with Hypervisors (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or KVM) and basic hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s) / Docker.

  • OS & Security: Proficient in Linux (RedHat, Ubuntu) and Windows Server administration, including basic OS and environment hardening techniques.

  • Automation: Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash) or automation platforms (Ansible, Terraform).

• AI & Innovation Focus:

  • Practical experience utilizing AI platforms and tools in daily engineering workflows (e.g., AI-assisted coding, log analysis, automated script creation).

  • An innovative mindset with an eagerness to learn and apply emerging AI technology to IT operations.

• Soft Skills & Languages:

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate within a 10–15 person engineering team and interface with clients.

  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Cantonese (Mandarin is a plus).
