System Engineer

How you’ll contribute to MyRepublic’s success:

System Infrastructure & Reliability

• Maintain and support backend systems for our telecommunications network, ensuring a target uptime of 99.9%.
• Manage internal cloud servers and storage infrastructure running Proxmox VE across multiple locations.
• Support daily infrastructure operations, troubleshoot system issues, and respond to technical queries from internal departments.

Security Monitoring & Incident Response

• Implement and manage monitoring solutions for core network functions to identify system issues and potential security threats.
• Analyse system and security logs, develop event correlation rules, and prepare reports for critical incidents.
• Design and implement solutions for timely incident alerting and security lifecycle management.

Vulnerability & Compliance Management

• Coordinate internal and external compliance audits and ensure timely completion of required activities.
• Work with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing (VA/PT) providers on asset scanning, vulnerability tracking, and remediation.
• Monitor emerging vulnerabilities and exploits, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.

Automation & Continuous Improvement

• Develop and implement automation solutions using modern frameworks to improve operational efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to streamline system administration, monitoring, and incident response processes.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies, cybersecurity developments, and industry best practices.

We think you’ll fit in great with us if you:

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in System Administration, Infrastructure Engineering, Platform Engineering, or a related role.
• Strong experience administering Linux-based operating systems.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies such as Proxmox VE, VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VPN, firewalls, and load balancing.
• Experience with monitoring platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, Zabbix, ELK Stack, Splunk, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with vulnerability management, system hardening, security monitoring, and incident response.
• Experience with scripting or automation tools such as Bash, Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
