Systems Administrator

Location: Perth NOR, WA

Salary: $110,000 – $150,000 + Superannuation

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

Our client are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to join their growing IT team in Perth. This role is ideal for a hands-on IT professional with strong Microsoft infrastructure experience, a practical understanding of cyber security and compliance requirements, and the ability to support both server and end-user environments.

You will be responsible for maintaining and improving their IT infrastructure, ensuring systems remain secure, reliable, and compliant while providing technical support across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Windows Server environments.
  • Manage and support Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365 services.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Install, configure, and support physical and virtual server infrastructure.
  • Manage hardware lifecycle activities including servers, workstations, laptops, and networking equipment.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Assist with cyber security initiatives, vulnerability management, patching, and compliance requirements.
  • Support security frameworks, policies, and audit activities.
  • Provide Level 2/3 technical support and incident resolution.
  • Maintain system documentation, procedures, and asset records.
  • Assist with network troubleshooting including switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • 3-5+ years' experience in a Systems Administrator or similar infrastructure support role.
  • Strong experience with Windows Server administration.
  • Experience managing Microsoft Exchange and/or Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Solid understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience supporting physical server and end-user hardware.
  • Knowledge of cyber security principles, patch management, and compliance requirements.
  • Basic networking skills including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, switching, and firewall concepts.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Exposure to backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Microsoft certifications or other relevant industry certifications.
  • Experience working within regulated or compliance-driven environments.
