System Engineer x 2
Salary: $4,500 – $6,200 per month
About the role
The System Engineer is responsible for the implementation, administration, maintenance, and support of enterprise systems and mission critical infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, performance, and reliability. The role involves troubleshooting technical issues, supporting project implementation, managing system upgrades, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to meet operational and business requirements.
Key responsibilities
Administer and maintain servers, operating systems, virtualization platforms, and enterprise applications.
Monitor system health, performance, availability, and capacity utilization.
Perform routine maintenance, patching, upgrades, and configuration management.
Ensure system backups are completed and recovery procedures are regularly tested.
Support 24x7 operational requirements and participate in standby/on-call duties where required.
Investigate and resolve system incidents, service outages, and performance issues.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions.
Escalate complex issues to vendors or higher-level support teams when necessary.
Implement security hardening and system protection measures.
Manage user access controls and privileged accounts.
About you
Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
2 to 5 years of experience in system administration, infrastructure support, or IT operations.
Experience managing enterprise systems in production environments.
Windows Server and/or Linux administration.
Virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix).
Cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS).
Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and LDAP.
Backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
Experience working with government, critical infrastructure, or large-scale enterprise systems is advantageous.

Main Skill Set
VMware setup experience (not just maintenance/user experience)
Backup solution experience (none software-based, but physical products type, e.g. Veritas / CommVault or similar)
Understanding of storage features such as WWPN, iSCSI, RDM disk, datastore for VMware
Windows experience (AD setup including profile sync/FSMO features, GPO, simple network routing, windows clustering, powershell scripting[good to have])
Linux experience (bare minimum, basic commands for administration)
Familiar with monitoring tools (e.g. solarwinds or similar)
