System Software Engineer Embedded
Summary
Build administrative and embedded software at Cerebras that links system-level software with cluster control layers: extending Linux BSP support, monitoring wafer-scale hardware, and diagnosing system failures. Core stack is C++ and Golang on Linux-based embedded platforms.
You will develop administrative software that connects system-level software with cluster control layers. You will extend Linux BSP support, diagnose system failures with operations teams, implement hardware-monitoring software, improve reliability and observability, and participate in reviews, design discussions, and technical planning.
Responsibilities
- Develop administrative software for system and cluster control layers
- Extend Linux BSP support for platform components
- Gather requirements, define scope, plan milestones, and deliver implementations
- Diagnose system-level failures and implement fixes
- Design software that monitors system hardware and wafer-level behavior
- Improve reliability, observability, and maintainability across the embedded stack
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical planning
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience building production-quality C++ or Golang software
- Understanding of embedded systems fundamentals or system hardware interactions
- Experience in cross-functional engineering environments
