Systematic Instructor/ Job Coach
A Job Coach is responsible for providing training and support to clients. Services provided include
training, supervision, and other supports necessary to ensure client success and retention at job
sites.
Job Duties
● Supervise client work performance and train clients.
● Document client progress by providing regular case notes (minimum of monthly).
● Maintaining communication with all site supervisors to ensure the supported employment
program is meeting the employer’s expectations.
● Serve as an advocate for clients.
● Serve as a liaison between clients and employers to build a natural support network.
● Assist with fading efforts as appropriate to promote independence.
● Follow behavior management plans as necessary.
● Communicate in a professional manner with employers, coworkers and others as needed.
● Effectively respond to client conflicts, disruptive behavior, medical needs, etc.
● Assist with pre-employment skill development as needed/directed.
● Act as a role model by demonstrating adherence to workplace rules.
● Recommend accommodations as appropriate.
● Transport individuals to and from job site location utilizing company vehicles as needed.
● Assume other responsibilities as directed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
● Ability to communicate with individuals with disabilities.
● Physical ability to assist clients and use assistive devices.
● Knowledge of American Sign Language a plus but not required.
● Successful completion of a Caregiver Background Check.
● Positive attitude and ability to motivate others.
● Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with Ventures staff,
clients, Managed Care Organization staff, visitors, and members of the public.
● Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
● Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and ability to pass a DMV record check.
Please note - This position will primarily be supporting an individual working in a local vehicle repair shop; approximately 12 hours weekly.
